Singer-songwriter & Storyteller.

Born and raised in Hamilton Heights, New York City, 22 year-old singer-songwriter, filmmaker and educator Sirena Maré creates work influenced by her travels and personal experiences growing up between Australia and New York. Her creative works are captured through a cinematic lens of unpacking the past, emotional vulnerability and telling untold stories of the people she's encountered in life. Starting at the age of seven, Sirena was introduced to the arts and raised in a community of musicians in her very own neighborhood, Harlem. Her first memory of music was sitting in the backseat of her parents car and going to concerts with her family with such artists as Colin Hay, James Taylor and Regina Spektor. Her signature sound was shaped by classic female artists such as Norah Jones, Joni Mitchell, and Madison Cunningham. She recently graduated from NYU Steinhardt majoring in Contemporary Production and Songwriting and minoring in Film Production at Tisch School of The Arts. She has collaborated with artists and songwriters such as Jessica Lea Mayfield, Emma Jayne, and Jackson Mansfield (of The Obsessives), alongside other emerging talents in New York City. Now, Sirena Maré plans to release her ep “Evolution” on all platforms in Spring 2024.

Upcoming: Sirena joins the production of “Heartbreak on Murray Hill” as Songwriter/Composer.

Filmmaker and Director Malcolm Quinn Silver-Van Meter tells the story of his grandmother, Bobby, and her experiences growing up on East 33rd St in the fifties. The A-plot focuses around her first breakup, at age eleven. In some ways, it’s a classic coming-of-age story—we witness Bobby facing a type of self-doubt she hasn’t been forced to yet, and feeling bodily insecurity for the first time in a profound way. All this is compounded, though, by the uncertainty of her family’s future as her parents’ marriage heads toward disaster. Ultimately, Bobby finds the love and support she needs from the women in her family, her tough-love Catholic mother and her little sister, Kathleen, at a time when it was still a working class neighborhood made up primarily of Irish, Italian, and Puerto Rican immigrants.
